Youth is splendid because of dreams, and a profession is noble because of vows. The event commenced with the recital titled “Pharmacy Heart Brilliant, Virtue Illuminates the Benevolent Path”, in which students felt the initial resolve and mission of pharmacy professionals through the powerful lines: A brilliant pharmacy heart is the sincerity hidden in the white coat, the benevolence integrated into the bloodstream, and the unwavering passion when facing life.
Wu Lirong offered advice to all 2025 students with earnest expectations: first, always maintain the original intention of “respecting life”and safeguarding every life with professionalism and integrity; second, hone the skill of “pursuing excellence”, supporting noble professional ethics with solid expertise; third, embody the responsibility of “service and dedication”, realizing personal value through contribution. Wu hoped that students would carry today’s inspiration and commitment into their future work in pharmacy, cultivating deep expertise and becoming highly skilled, capable, and responsible pharmaceutical professionals.
During the awards segment, the college honored recipients of the 2025 “Xinyuehua Inspirational Scholarship” and representatives who won the School of Pharmacy Student Skills Competition. The “Xinyuehua Inspirational Scholarship” was donated by Mr. Liang Zhu, an alumnus of the 2013 Pharmacy Business and Management Program and General Manager of Xinyuehua Medical Devices Co., Ltd. This honor not only recognizes students' academic achievements and overall qualities but also builds a solid bridge for college-enterprise collaboration to empower youth growth. The School of Pharmacy's 'Red May' Student Skills Competition aims to enhance students’ professional abilities and comprehensive qualities. Through a three-level competition system—school, provincial, and national competitions—it continuously promotes a close integration of teaching and practice, comprehensively improving students’ career competitiveness.
Role models are never far; they are right beside us. Four students—Liu Gaoxing, Zhang Xiaoyuan, Wang Yingying, and Pan Mengqi—recipients of the National Scholarship of the School of Pharmacy, shared their learning experiences and growth reflections, demonstrating the excellence of pharmacy students through solid academic performance and proactive practical engagement.
At the solemn “Pharmacopoeia Inheritance” ceremony, six representatives of faculty members from the pharmacy program held the weighty “Chinese Pharmacopoeia”, ceremoniously passing on the symbolic flame of pharmacy which stands for “protecting health and carrying forward the mission”. This pharmacopoeia, embodying the wisdom and perseverance of generations of pharmacy professionals, represents not only the transfer of professional knowledge but also the inheritance of professional spirit and mission, symbolizing responsibility and dedication being passed down from generation to generation.?
Under the leadership of Xiang Min, all the students stood solemnly, raised their right fists, and solemnly pledged: “I will dedicate myself to the pharmaceutical profession with conscience, dignity, and professional competence; cherish friendship with colleagues, respect and be grateful to my teachers; perform my duties with diligence, and serve patients and the public;...”. The powerful oath echoed throughout the hall, serving not only as a solemn promise from the students to uphold the core values of their profession, but also as a resounding declaration of the new generation of pharmacy youth courageously embracing their mission, deeply engraved in the hearts of all participants.?
This “Pharmacopoeia Inheritance” event was not just a ceremony but also a profound spiritual baptism, marking the official commencement of the professional journey for Grade 2025 pharmacy students. In the future, the School of Pharmacy will continue to uphold the concept of “Holistic Education”, taking the culture of the pharmacopoeia as its foundation and professional ethics as its soul, constantly innovating educational approaches, and cultivating more outstanding talents who combine virtue and skill and live up to the times for the medical and pharmaceutical industry, allowing the spirit of pharmacy to shine brightly and be passed down from generation to generation.
