Present at the ceremony were Luo Xiaoqing, Vice Secretary of the College Party Committee and President; Wu Lirong, Member of the College Party Committee and Vice President; as well as heads of secondary units including the Publicity Office, Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, Youth League Committee, Logistics Management Office, Asset Management Company, and the Department of General Education. The ceremony was presided over by Gu Shuqin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office. Also in attendance were the class advisor for the international students, all incoming international students of Grade 2025, and representatives from Grade 2024 international students.

The ceremony commenced with warm applause. In his address, President Luo, on behalf of the entire college, extended a heartfelt welcome to the new students and briefly introduced Suzhou’s rich historical and cultural heritage as well as the college’s distinctive educational characteristics. President Luo stated that as Jiangsu’s first demonstrative higher vocational college in the health sector and a construction unit for high-level vocational schools with Chinese characteristics, our college will continue to deepen cooperation with “Belt and Road” countries in education and cultural exchanges. He emphasized that the arrival of the new students not only highlights the quality of our education and the success of our collaborations but also enriches the campus with a diverse and vibrant cultural atmosphere. He encouraged everyone to adapt quickly to the new environment, enhance their language and professional skills, and actively engage in cross-cultural exchanges, growing into positive forces for strengthening Sino-foreign friendship and cultural dialogue.

Following this, the class advisor for the international students delivered a speech, welcoming the newcomers to the college and encouraging them to support one another, study diligently, and engage actively in exchanges. Su Yuwei from Myanmar and Ba Zhiyuan from Tajikistan, representing the Class of Grade 2025, expressed their gratitude to the college and shared their expectations for their future studies and life. Li Xiaohe, a representative from Grade 2024, shared her personal experiences and tips for adapting to academic life, encouraging the new students to participate actively in campus activities and embrace challenges courageously.

Since becoming one of the first partner institutions in the "Sino-Myanmar Vocational Education Student Cooperation Project (Jiangsu)" in 2017, SHVC has welcomed nearly 50 international students from countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia. Moving forward, SHVC will continue to uphold the principles of openness, inclusiveness, and mutual learning, constantly enhancing the depth of education and the quality of talent cultivation through multicultural exchange and integration.
