On the afternoon of May 19, Vice President Xiao Bo, along with heads of the Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, Foreign Affairs Office, School of Clinical Medical, and School of Nursing, met with the UK delegation in Room 223, Renhe Building for a collaboration discussion. Both institutions, with histories spanning over a century, have nursing and rehabilitation as their respective strengths. The two sides engaged in lively discussions on talent cultivation plans, curriculum design, and faculty exchanges for these two disciplines, reaching multiple consensuses on areas such as Sino-foreign cooperative education and student exchange programs. Following the meeting, the UK representatives visited the training centers of the School of Clinical Medical and the School of Nursing, expressing high appreciation for our teaching facilities and practical training environment.

From May 20 to 23, Caroline Key, a nursing expert, and Heather Baglee, a rehabilitation expert from the UK delegation, actively participated in teaching activities. In classrooms at Zhixing Building and Zhizhen Building, the two experts delivered a series of engaging sessions for students from the International Cooperation Class of Grade2024 in Nursing and the International Cooperation Class of 2024 in Rehabilitation. From introductions to the UK public health system and practical training on nursing assessment tools and occupational therapy techniques, to specialized theoretical explanations and interactive Q&A sessions, the UK experts, with their rich practical experience and dynamic teaching methods, allowed students to gain insights into the concepts and methods of nursing and rehabilitation education in the UK. During this period, students from the Class of Grade 2022 in Nursing (4+0 program) and the Class of Grade 2023 in the International Cooperation Class in Rehabilitation also participated in second-year professional training courses, further broadening their international perspectives.

In addition to student instruction, the UK experts also conducted "Classroom Exchange" teacher training activities with our nursing and rehabilitation faculty. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as innovative teaching methods, integration of ideological and political education into courses, and the development of international teaching resources, sharing teaching experiences and insights, which provided valuable references for our faculty to enhance their international teaching standards.

Amid the substantial academic exchanges, the UK guests also immersed themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese culture. A down-to-earth "City Walk" not only helped the delegation understand local Suzhou culture but also fostered emotional closeness, laying a profound humanistic foundation for academic interactions.

On May 23, the UK experts visited Suzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Suzhou Yiyang Nursing Home, gaining firsthand experience of the characteristics of Chinese medical institutions and the elderly care system. Finally, the UK experts attended the book presentation ceremony for "Chinese Treasures: Traditional Chinese Medicine" at the School of Clinical Medicine. Leaders from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the School of Clinical Medicine reviewed and highly praised the outcomes of this exchange event with the UK representatives. The book presentation ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the academic exchange activities.
