Chen Bin reviewed the long history of traditional Chinese medicine culture, emphasized the importance of labor in the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine culture, and encouraged students to cherish the opportunities in front of them, make full use of the resources of the education base, not only to pursue academic excellence, but also to temper their character in labor and inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture. He urged the students to be like the saplings planted today, take root in the deep soil of Chinese medicine culture, and become the pillars of Chinese medicine in the future.
Chen Bin, Zhao Yongsheng, Ding Xuhong (Director of Publicity Office of the College Party Committee), Liu Zhongwei (Director of the Department of General Education), and Song Yuening (Party Secretary of the School of Pharmacy), jointly inaugurated the three bases.

During the event, students performed heartfelt recitations, including "Ode to Laborers"(celebrating hard work in a magnificent psalm ), "The Soul of Labor"(celebrating the light of faith forged by labor), "Spring Warmth in the Apricot Forest" (celebrating TCM wisdom), and "Green Hope" (expressing aspirations for a sustainable future). Their performances showcased reverence for TCM culture and labor education.

Following the ceremony, faculty and students enthusiastically participated in tree planting. They wielded shovels and shovels, supported seedlings and watered them, planted seedlings of hope together, and sowed seeds of dreams. Every shovel of soil carries a beautiful vision for the future, and every drop of water nourishes the sprouts of hope for life. They later visited the TCM Popularization Base to deepen their understanding of traditional medicine and labor education.


Additionally, to celebrate the 47th Tree-planting Day, the Department of General Education hosted a "Model Worker Campus Lecture" themed "Savoring the Fragrance of Herbs, Appreciating the Artistry of Gardening" at the Sixian "One-Stop" Student Community on the afternoon of March 12. The event invited Tan Qiuyi, Provincial Model Worker, Deputy Party Secretary of Suzhou Tiger Hill Scenic Area Management Committee, Vice President of Jiangsu Provincial Bonsai Association Alliance, and Director of Suzhou Flower and Bonsai Professional Committee, to deliver a lecture titled "Living Amidst Forests and Valleys, Towering Trees Reach for the Sky”. During the lecture, Tan Qiuyi provided in-depth explanations to pharmacy students on the landscaping functions of garden plants, compositional elements, artistic creation of floral landscapes, and design configurations. He also shared challenges and difficulties encountered in his horticultural career. He emphasized: "Labor is not merely a skill but a spirit, embodying the pursuit of excellence, courage to take responsibility, and willingness to dedicate".

In the future, SVHC will leverage the Mudu Campus education base as a cornerstone to fully harness the guiding force of ideological and political education, preserve and promote Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) culture, and amplify the unique educational value of labor practices. These efforts will focus on cultivating a new generation capable of driving national rejuvenation and shouldering the great responsibility of revitalizing the Chinese nation.
