This large Beech tree was approximately 200 years old. A large limb had become stressed with the weight of the branches and was overhanging the building. When the new roof was fitted it was decided to remove the limb to eliminate the risk of damage to the roof any anyone inside. All the timber and branches were lowered safely using rigging ropes and pulleys. |
Removal of several diseased elms at Elgin Leisure Centre
We were sadly called in by Moray Council to fell and remove eight elm trees which were suffering from Dutch Elm Disease. This devastating disease originally started to infect elms in the south of England in the 1970s. Wakeley was itself involved in the early years of it, removing diseased trees. In Moray, most of the local elms have been lost in the last decade. |

The team were called out to deal with a dangerous dead Scots pine which was in close proximity to power lines and a house. Using another tree as a safe anchor the dangerous tree was dismantled in sections.
