Xiao Bo extended a warm welcome to the 11 Myanmar students on behalf of all the teachers and students, and introduced the general information of Suzhou as a famous historical and cultural city, as well as Suzhou Vocational Health College (SVHC) with a history of over 100 years. He encouraged the Myanmar students to adapt themselves to life in SVHC quickly, learn actively, and live happily. He expressed the hope that the Myanmar and Chinese students would help and learn from each other, and that the Myanmar students would spend the three years of study here in a fulfilling, wonderful and meaningful way, and serve as cultural messengers between China and Myanmar.
Ms Wang Yingxin, class advisor of the Myanmar class and teacher with the Department of General Education, said that the unique group of Myanmar students should attach importance to mutual respect and mutual understanding. As the class advisor, she will work with her colleagues to create a good learning environment, provide all-round care and guidance, and help them adjust to the campus life quickly .
Myanmar student Ei ei phyo spoke as a student representative. She expressed her gratitude for the meticulous arrangement of SVHC, including such as aspects as airport pick-up and life services. She said, on behalf of the Myanmar students, that the volunteers' patient explanations, considerate guidance and careful services eliminated their nervousness when they arrived at an unfamiliar place, and also enabled them to feel the cordiality of SVHC. They will cherish the educational opportunity, achieve academic success, and realize their dreams.
In recent years, as one of the first batch of cooperative colleges and the only vocational health college in the "China-Myanmar Vocational Education Overseas Students Cooperation Project (Jiangsu) 2016-2018", SVHC constantly attaches great importance to the work of overseas students. SVHC chooses the best teaching staff to teach overseas students, and makes thoughtful and meticulous arrangements in curriculum settings, teaching facilities and equipment, practical training conditions, etc., and carefully organizes rich cultural activities to create an international atmosphere on campus. Therefore, students can perceive the beauty of Suzhou, and the beauty of Jiangsu.
The continuous development of the overseas student program has further promoted the process of international cooperation and the related medical education in SVHC.
